About Us
Due to the most recent civil war in the northern part of Ethiopia, many in the Amhara and Afar communities have become the victims of sexual violence, ethnic-based brutality, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.
Sebez Psychological Support Center is created to psychologically support the victims to recover & heal from the brutal & inhumane crimes that were committed against them. The center will provide education to the community, psychological training for health care providers, art therapy, and counseling for victims, and create income opportunities for survivors.
Our Vision
We strive to create a world where every woman and child feels safe and accepted regardless of the heinous crimes committed against them. We believe by using compassion, consistency, and professional help we can help victims become survivors.
Our entire team wants to see an Amhara community that overcomes the struggle and plight that we are going through. A war-ravaged area that has witnessed unimaginable inhumane crimes will need psychological support and encouragement.
Our Mission
Our mission is to build psychologically enlightened communities that will support and empower children and women who were victims of rape and sexual violence.
Whether it is a reassuring conversation, free physical examination, education, professional training, counseling, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we hope to make sure that they get support from the. centers regardless of the severity of their conditions.
